2012 end of the world – a prediction given by many trusted sources and learned men and civilizations. “The world is coming to an end” was heard a few years back; television cameras zoomed in on people scrambling to reach home and be with loved ones. Men and women working out of their home town were given off to go back home and welcome the end of the world with their families. Many fled cities and towns; jobs were left askance, buildings and structures were left to their own plight while the men building them vanished.
A lot of people took a lot of trouble to espouse the cause of doomsday predictions; scaring people no end. Some even took out all their life savings and celebrated life’s end to the brow because “there was no tomorrow” – remember? Alas! The savings will never come back but the hardships returned because there was a “tomorrow”. However, the untimely celebrations made some others happy who profited from these end-of-the-world celebrations and lived to tell the tale!
There were many who did not even bother to resign or take leave from their work place because there was no “tomorrow” and sadly ended up jobless not world-less! There were many who took the opportunity to travel as much as possible before the world ended. These lucky travelers probably ended up seeing some of the indigenous inhabitants of this world which may have gone extinct by now. Yes, plenty of creatures, birds, and insects are disappearing ‘at the drop of a hat’ because we humans are striving to make this world extinct.
Do we still need a doomsday prediction? Are we not doing our best to bring the world to its heels with our actions and life styles? Funnily enough if the predictions do not work our nuclear arms will without a doubt! It just needs a little spark to set it off and soon everything will vanish from the face of this earth – that could be a better solution. The world would still be there but not any of us destructive human beings.
Take a break and listen to the birds singing, the soft sound of the wind, see the rising sun, see the sun’s reflection in the still waters of the pond or river, watch the bud unfold into a flower embracing the warmth of the sun. Not enough for you to still live on and rubbish the nightmarish predictions? Do you really think God or the Super Power would like to destroy all this beauty with a whiff?
Winter is here and as per the predictions you probably have another winter to see before you go beyond all this; so why not do something extraordinary this winter? Give away all your winter stuff to people who really need them, except a few items for your own use – after all even if the end is near you still need to keep warm, right? You know what the world is still here after the last prediction and may be we will be wishing each other “A Happy New Year” on January 1st 2013, just after 2012 end of the world!
