The end of the world has been predicted so many times. Now there are rumors about the year 2012 being the last year we will be on this earth; the 2012 prophecy. Even today no one knows exactly what is going to happen therefore a solid prediction cannot be made. There are countless individuals who believe it is utter nonsense and the world will see December 22nd 2012.

Some of the predictions made for the 2012 prophecy include the arrival of the next solar maximum. The chances of that occurring are not slim but their not great; we cannot predict what are sun will do 100% of the time. Or others say the Earth will be drawn into a black hole. From what the scientists at NASA and other space and astronomy locations have seen the Earth has yet to move from it’s orbiting track. Therefore the chances the Earth is going to be sucked into a black whole is slim. There is also a prediction that an asteroid or another object from space overpowering the size of our little blue planet is going to crash into us. True even though we cannot see everything our universe holds even with the advanced technology we have today, we can tell that there is no solid evidence there is such an object in space heading our way. There have been rare times history has overpowered science but this is one of those times science may very well be overpowering history.

These days people of every living generation are using modern and even new technology to make predictions we know we can put a high percentage on, a percentage of the prediction being as accurate as we can hope for. True our information is limited but the world has been doing the best it can with what we have been given. The 2012 prophecy has just become another ‘topic of conversation’ these days however. But there are still those who believe in the 2012 prophecy and have delved deep into the subject. But considering the world is filled with numerous skeptics, debunkers, and non-believers the 2012 prophecy has been seen as just another rumor or fairytale and a waste of time.

The 2012 Prophecy does not specifically say the world is going to end or a huge catastrophe will occur on that day. If anything does happen it will no doubt be some sort of Natural disaster; be it a flood, hurricane or even a massive earthquake no one knows. But we have faced other catastrophe’s and have come out with a few bumps and bruises. Who’s to say we won’t make it out of this one as well? To most people the 2012 prophecy is just another repeat of January 1st 2000. Nothing happened that day and there is a high chance we will see the same thing on December 21 2012. That does not mean that nothing will end that day.

In conclusion the famous words to a well known song echo to some people when they think of the 2012 prophecy, ‘It’s the end of the world as we know it’. As far as most people are concerned those word are simple lyrics and title to a catchy song and nothing more.
